Tundra Swans Too Early

803 views Terry Taylor March 18, 2018 Port Franks, Lambton Shores, ON Date shot: March 17, 2018

Port Franks is an annual stopover for the migrating Tundra Swans. But they came too early this year. They showed up 3 weeks ago in the warm February weather and were enjoying the hundreds of acres of flooded farm fields until winter hit again. The fields are frozen again, so the swans are hanging out in the bit of open water at the Ausable River mouth on Lake Huron. They may be in this area for a few more weeks, with more winter weather coming.
