This morning, the three wild Mute Swan cygnets, now 16-weeks-old, started to fly. The sun was shining directly into my camera but I wanted to record this magnificent event. This photo shows the cygnet PERKY to the left starting to fly across the river, and her sibling INDY to the right is ready to take flight with his wings spread. Their mother is in the middle aggressively encouraging them to flap those wings and fly. The Swans were far down the Bay, but I photographed them from my car as I always do, not to disturb them in their habitat.
