This beautiful bird of prey visited our yard this morning (Oct 19, 1921 at 10:30am)Red-tailed Hawks are one of the most common hawks in North America. About 90% of world wide Red-tailed Hawk population live right here in North America. Red-tailed Hawks are the most active during the early mornings of each day. They can be spotted soaring high in the sky in search of prey. Their amazing vision can spot prey from a long way away. Often you might spot a red-tailed hawk perched along the roadside on telephone poles and trees. They will weigh in from 690 to 1,600 g (1.5 to 3.5 lb) and measure 45–65 cm (18–26 in) in length. Their wingspan stretches from 110–141 cm (3 ft 7 in–4 ft 8 in).
