The duck must have had her nest in our neighborhood because she and her babies wandered into our yard. We live about 3 and a half blocks from the lake. We gathered 2 neighbors and herded the mother and her 8 babies to the water. We were afraid if they wandered themselves they would go on the street and get run over. It was a long hike for the poor little gaffers and they were sure hard to steer but we got them there safe and sound. They were sure happy to see the water!
