i wondered down to the closed bridge outside the Port Perry Lagoons this morning after finding the Trumpeter swans not too active. There, on a branch where I have photographed many birds , was a Green Heron. It looked wet (perhaps from bathing in the Nonquon River) and was preening itself quite thoroughly. I started taking pictures and it was an hour before it left. I took 54 pics. This one has it preening its neck and head with its foot and its crown is up. You just don't see this every day.
