Great Gray Owl

I call this one "windy city" ~ © Heather King I have been photographing great gray owls since 2012. I have seen them in Ontario & Quebec & Manitoba Canada & also in Minnesota. In all of these places I have seen them in sunlight as well as in dusk and dawn. The few great gray owls 30 minutes from where I live will not come out in the sunlight. 2 days ago they foretasted snow so I knew I had to go out and try and locate one as the more bleak & grey the weather is, the more likely it is to see the great gray owl out in the open roosting & hunting. Friday I had this beautiful owl to myself for what seemed like an hour. It was heaven on earth. I really like this photo as the wind was blowing his/her feathers in every direction. I love how the head feathers blowing the opposite way almost look like a headdress. If you look closely you can see the snowflakes gently starting to fall. To can find a video I did of this owl 3 weeks ago here http://bit.ly/2U96mBa
