The bird is watching the man on the boat at eye level - It looks like the man is near the nest but he is actually 50 feet or more away from the nest. The man is sitting on the ship that went through the locks and the bird is in a nest 50 feet or more in the air. I took picture from the shore. Taken at the Iroquois Seaway Locks (Ontario). The nest is on top of a 50 foot pole beside the locks and there were two parents and one young one (who could fly).
