It's been a nice Winter for sighting American Goldfinches along The Kate Pace Way although they have been shy for the most part preferring to hang out at the top of Spruce and Pine Trees. This cold February day they were much braver and I suppose me having put out a good selection of seed might have had something to do with it. At first a group of females descended on the bird food and were all alone for about 20 minutes before the males finally came down from the trees to eat. After that they took turns eating and dodging the complaining Red Squirrels....
