Heart Shaped Cloud Formation within a Cloud Formation

130 views Ute Jones August 17, 2017 Hamilton, Ontario (corner of Birch and Barton, over the Greenspace) Date shot: August 17, 2017

This unusual cloud formation was photo documented this past Monday evening during a potluck dinner in downtown Hamilton, Ontario. I posted it on my facebook page because I found it interesting and knew my community might as well. They suggested sending it to your website and here it is. My friend David Hart Dyke made this comment on facebook about it: " I could be wrong, but I think maybe you caught Hamilton's heat signature in the clouds. There's something called the "urban heat island effect", and you might have caught a really amazing example of it. Basically, all the heat being reflected off a city's concrete and pavement rises up in a column, and has an effect on local weather. I don't think anybody's take a picture like this, though. Why not post it on The Weather Channel." It would be interesting to know if others have information about why clouds might form like this.
