Photographed late yesterday after the storm had moved thru our area and left a lot of damage in its wake. This great horned owl and her 2 baby owlets next to the Ottawa River managed to weather strong winds and the torrent downpour. Here it's basking in the late day sun and all seemed well. The hourly weather stats showed 113 km / hr gusts recorded at 4pm Saturday. These birds found a way to stay safe.
