I have been trying to get a photo of the blue coloured Dragonflies for a few weeks but they seldom seem to stop defending their territory and eating so I was happy just to get this shot of one. It was in the grass some distance from me so it's at 75X zoom, not ideal for clarity, but I was happy nonetheless being my first one of the year!! It wasn't long after seeing it hidden in the grass that I realized it may have been hiding from a marauding Merlin that was hunting Dragonflies only a short distance away.
