From New York to Ottawa

93566 views Nature Lover December 21, 2022 Ottawa, ON Date shot: December 14, 2022

OTTER the male snowy owl pictured above was outfitted with a hybrid cellular and satellite transmitter by Project SNOWstorm to understand snowy owls better by tracking their movements to help with their conservation through outreach and education. OTTER has travelled from Jefferson County, New York to the Canadian Artic, Labrador, southern Baffin Island, Hudson Bay, different locations in northern and western Quebec and finally shows up in Ottawa on December 14 where I and several other people saw it in the Eagleson and Fallowfield area. Recent tracking data shows it has since moved to southeast of Ottawa. Happy travels OTTER.
