A little something for Halloween. A Female Araneus Diadematus Cross Orb Weaver spider. I was painting the house and it crawled out from under the shingles, I got some paint on the rear end. For size, it's about 2 cm long, the gravel you see is the coating on asphalt shingles. The back looks like a skeleton or If you look sideways you will see a "skull" design. this photo is unedited. If you look close you will also see 4 small holes, I've been told these are part of the breathing system for the spider ...enjoy!
