Wave Washing Out Nests

1033 views Glane Gorveatt July 5, 2014 Shad Bay, NS Date shot: July 5, 2014

Cormorant nests with mothers and hatchlings are being soaked by large waves from Arthur in Shad Bay, Nova Scotia. Breakers are constantly smashing into the rock and the south wind is blowing the spray over them. Cormorants do not shed water as easily as ducks and these are becoming waterlogged, probably unable to fly now.
