Chinook sunset over Kamloops grasslands

293 views Frank-Margaret Rhebergen October 16, 2017 Kamloops, BC Date shot: October 15, 2017

Sunday afternoon at around 3:00 pm I noticed a nice chinook arch forming above the western horizon and I thought we could be in for a beautiful sunset. So, at around 5:00 pm I took my camera and hiked up into the hills behind our place into the Lac Du Bois Grasslands provincial park. I found a spot with some "interesting" foreground and settled down between the clumps of grass and sagebrush, being careful not to sit on some cactii, as I've done before, and got ready for the show. Forgot to bring popcorn. Over the next hour, God's spectacular handiwork unfolded before my eyes. I pretty much stayed in the same location while the clouds and colourful lighting kept changing. What a show! And it didn't cost a penny.
