This photo is of a lightning strike over South Lake Tahoe, Ca. The photo was taken by Shane Suffriti from Kings Beach, in north Lake Tahoe, looking south. Meg Rose Cooper is the woman reaching out to the lightning strike. You may notice the left to right wispy direction of the lightning strike near the top of the photo. The strike is at the peak of its luminosity as it stabs down at the lake. The storm brought much needed rain to the region. Every lightning strike poses a threat to these dry high desert conditions.
