I had been eagerly anticipating this shot of the stone house, but it took patience and planning. There was a very narrow window between the bright moon setting and twilight being too bright also any earlier in the year or morning the Milky Way would have been too low and not have cleared the roof. This abandoned stone house fron the 1920's was until recently completely overgrown and hidden by forest. Recent highway construction has revealed its location to the public. I feel a lot of the magic and atmosphere of the setting has gone but at the same time it has allowed me to take photographs with large expanses of sky which I otherwise could not have done before. The house was called Bonavista Lodge and once was a hunting fishing camp.
