Traveling through Oregon on a day off from speaking engagements, I looked for interesting historical sites and found Grave Creek. It flows southwest into the Rogue River, the location of the cabin of famous author Zane Grey who wrote some of his Western Novels. This covered bridge is there in Sunny Valley, about 15 miles north of Grants Pass. Martha Leland Crowley, 16 years old died of typhoid fever at an encampment here in 1846. The creek was named "Grave Creek" in memory of that tragedy.
