Why is this Glacier Blue?

15696 views Jon Van Loon November 14, 2019 Chile Date shot: March 14, 2008

This is my photo of the Amalia Glacier in Southern Chile taken on our tip to circumvent Cape Horn. The great compaction density of the ice in this glacier squeezes the normally present air bubbles out, making it blue in colour. Also Known as the Skua Glacier, it is located in Bernardo O'Higgins National Park
