Seldom Seen Aspect of Cape Horn

16445 views Jon Van Loon May 29, 2019 Cape Horn, Chile Date shot: March 16, 2008

Most people who have sailed past it, if asked, would describe Cape Horn as a bare, dark, craggy monolith. This is because the sky is almost always cloud covered. When we passed this great landmark the sky was only partly cloudy and the sun's rays illuminated a segment of the wall, showing the low growing plants that actually cling to it's surface.
