A relatively newer branch of the federal government, the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), a special operating agency within Fisheries & Oceans Canada, was formed in 1962 with headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario . Among its many responsibilities, marine search & rescue, icebreaking, navigation, transportation & communication issues in Canadian waters and marine pollution response. With a 119 vessels, 22 helicopters and many other types of smaller craft, here's one of Canada's 36 Coast Guard Cape-class vessels, the CCGS Cape Lambton, returning to Port Dover, Ontario where it has been stationed since August 2005.
