This cemetary is near Broome Western Australia. It is the final resting place of pearl divers, mainly Japanese who were in the years gone by, hired for very good money, to dive for pearl bearing oysters on the the ocean floor near this city. I was told that these Japanese had a skill of holding their breath for longer periods than most, something important in pearl diving. On the other hand most of the divers died young presumably from the wear and tear that this practice engendered.
