Halloween Port Dover and Simcoe Ontario

23920 views Earl Hartlen September 26, 2020 Port Dover, ON Date shot: September 24, 2020

Celebrated annually on October 31, Halloween is one of the world’s oldest holidays. Derived from ancient festivals and religious rituals, it's still widely celebrated today in a number of countries around the world like Canada, Ireland, and the United States where their traditions include costumes, trick or treating, parties, pranks and games. Other countries celebrate differently. Latin American counties like Mexico celebrate "Dia de los Muertos", the Day of the Dead which honors deceased loved ones and ancestors. In England, Guy Fawkes Day, which falls on November 5, is commemorated with bonfires and fireworks. This decorative Halloween display has just been installed roadside at Evergreen Hill Farm, 687 St. John's Rd East between Port Dover and Simcoe.
