Have you ever seen a ring of light around the sun or moon? This large circle of light is called a 22-degree halo by scientists and they're caused by ice crystals within thin cirrus clouds. There's several different kinds of sun rings you can see, depending on the weather conditions. One of the most common ones is called a 22 ° halo which get their name because the ring is located 22 degrees away from the Sun itself.
