A recent car crash led to an attack by a swarm of angry bees that sent two women to the hospital.

It happened Sunday in La Cañada Flintridge  near Los Angeles.

At least one of the drivers involved in the crash hit a tree and knocked down a bee hive.

Witnesses say a 17-year-old driver involved in the accident was stung at least 100 times.

"She looked like she got stung in the face a bunch of times and it was all swollen," one witness recalled.

He says she was panicking when he arrived at the scene.

He used the spray from a garden hose to scare the bees away.

Police say a 51-year-old woman was stung at least 500 times.
