Sunday, July 23, 2017, 7:16 PM - The unsettled weekend continues for southern Ontario, with spotty showers and a widespread risk of thunderstorms.
Storms are likely to fire up through the afternoon and evening hours Sunday, and severe watches and warnings were issued on-and-off in the southwest as things got going.
"Thunderstorms affecting southern Ontario this evening have the potential to become severe. Damaging winds, and torrential downpours giving 50 mm of rain in an hour or less are the main threats," Environment Canada says.

While the thunderstorm threat diminishes Sunday night, showers are expected to last through Monday across southern and eastern Ontario, with the heaviest rain falling east of Georgian Bay where 35+ mm is possible.
The wet weather will likely clear from west to east through Tuesday and Wednesday
If you're a heat lover, you may not be a fan of the long range forecast.
Temperatures are expected to be below seasonal through midweek, but pleasant with sunshine Tuesday and Wednesday.
"We will not see any persistent heat into early August," adds Gillham. "It looks unlikely that the GTA will see 30 C again during the next two weeks."
