Friday, June 5, 2015, 7:33 AM - A plane slid off the runway in slick conditions at Montreal's Trudeau Airport Friday afternoon.

Flight WS588 from Toronto left the runway upon landing and ended up on the grass off the tarmac.

WestJet reports that all passengers and crew are safe, and had exited the aircraft by 4:20 p.m., according to the airline's Twitter account.

One passenger on Twitter reported the aircraft landed in rainy conditions, although it is not known if that was the cause of the incident.

Another passenger claims that the plane passed through the a foggy patch before landing.

Emergency services arrived at the site, although a spokesman told CBC News there was no fire.

The passengers appear to have walked off the plane, with transportation back to the terminal arranged, according to Westjet.

The Transportation and Safety Board is investigating the incident. The investigation caused long delays at the airport Friday. Dozens of flights were delayed Friday evening, according to a CBC report.

Weather Network meteorologist Kelly Sonnenburg says the bulk of the afternoon's storms have passed Montreal, although showers will linger into the evening.
