Sunday, November 20, 2016, 3:41 PM - An anonymous Russian man has been hailed a hero after he was filmed saving a stranded dog from a freezing pond.
The man who recorded the video, Alexander Levashov, started filming the incident after calling emergency crews when suddenly the unnamed man charged towards the dog.
After lying down on the thin ice, the man tried to grab the pup. However, most likely out of anxiety, the dog bit him, though it did not deter the stranger from going through with the rescue.

Finally, after several attempts, the man grabbed the scruff of the dog's neck and pulled him to safety. The dog is seen trotting away and although the man was injured, he is seen beaming at the camera.
The video posted on YouTube on Nov. 7 has been viewed nearly 260,000 times.
In a post on VK, Levashov explained the man was treated for his wounds by emergency services, while the dog was rushed home.
