Thursday, September 14, 2017, 6:00 PM - Early in the morning on Friday, September 15, an outstanding mission of exploration will sadly come to an end.

On Wednesday, September 13, NASA provided the media with a preview of their Cassini spacecraft's final days.

Watch, via the embedded video below, as NASA scientists and engineers presented a live press conference from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.

The panelists who attended the event were:

• Jim Green, director of Planetary Science at NASA Headquarters, in Washington, D.C.,
• Earl Maize, Cassini project manager at NASA JPL,
• Linda Spilker, Cassini project scientist at NASA JPL, and
• Hunter Waite, team lead for Cassini's Ion and Neutral Mass Spectrometer, at the Southwest Research Institute, in San Antonio, TX.
