Up to 25 cm of snow on tap for Quebec

Forecasters are keeping an eye on a system that's expected to move through Quebec this weekend, bringing up to 15 cm of snow to some communities.

"Wednesday’s record-breaking Nor’easter in Atlantic Canada managed to leave much of Quebec unscathed," says Weather Network meteorologist Gina Ressler, "however, the next east coast storm will take a track farther west, brushing southern Quebec with snowfall and strong winds."

The low is expected to track up the spine of the Appalachians on Saturday, with snow arriving in southern Quebec late Saturday evening.

"Snow will continue to fall through much of the day on Sunday, with about 10-15 cm expected across the island of Montreal," Ressler adds.

Eastern Townships could receive as  much as 25 cm of snow.

Thankfully, winter-weary residents won't have to wait long to catch a break, with sunny skies and seasonal temperatures set to return to the Montreal area by Monday.
