The first week of September will remain quite unsettled in the Maritimes.

For the first day of school, parts of the region will see cloudy skies with the risk of showers. While Fredericton may see drizzle, Halifax and Charlottetown are expected to see just a mix of sun and cloud.

The one common factor: Warm and humid conditions will continue throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and P.E.I.

By contrast, Newfoundland will be generally clear, with cooler conditions on the Avalon. St John's, for example, is only expected to get up to a high of 13 °C Tuesday.

More widespread rain showers return to the Maritimes Tuesday night and continue through the day on Wednesday.
