Not one, but two tornadoes touched ground in Iowa on Wednesday.
While no injuries were reported, homes and farmsteads were among the casualties of the pair of twisters.

In Belmond, a tornado tore through the parking lot of a restaurant before heading toward the building. The only occupants at the time were the business owners, who were able to get out and seek shelter in a nearby basement.
The last time the area had been hit was in 1966, when an F5 tornado tore through the town causing massive destruction all around.

Heavy rain and strong winds also led to flash flood warnings to be issued for several counties in the area.
The system contributed to the loss of power for tens of thousands of people in the area.
