This is probably the last thing Atlantic Canadians want to hear in light of the recent storm.

The good news is, much milder temperatures will accompany Friday's system.

That means it's looking to be a mainly rain event for the portions of Nova Scotia, "but mixing and light flurries are expected for New Brunswick and PEI," says Weather Network meteorologist Brett Soderholm.

"The system moves into Newfoundland later Friday bringing mostly snow with a few hours of rain along the coast and southern Avalon," adds Matt Grinter, another meteorologist at The Weather Network.

It doesn't stop there.

"Another system is targeting the region on Sunday, and that could bring more of a messy mix," warns Soderholm. "Rain, freezing rain and snow are possible, with parts of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island potentially seeing up to 10 cm of snow through Monday."

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for all three Maritime provinces early Friday, warning of the wintery mix.

In the meantime, some communities in Atlantic Canada continue to dig out from more than 50 cm of snow, while contending with impressive snow drifts.
