Tub of puppies rescued from the cold

A litter of seven puppies locked in a storage tote and left on the side of the road in Mason City, Iowa, are now in good health and looking for homes.
Given that this happened in temperatures well below freezing, the outcome could have been very different.
A passerby found the seven dogs on the side of the road last week. They were brought to the Humane Society and nursed back to health.
"They were wet, they were cold... but they were still alive," the Humane Society says.
While the dogs are now thriving after being left out overnight, officials say they could have froze to death.
They're not sure who did this, but are asking anyone with information about the dogs to come forward. Whoever did this could face animal cruelty charges.
The Humane Society is caring for the dogs and trying to find them good homes.
