TTC bus slides on slippery roadway, hits tree at U of T Scarborough campus

Monday, November 17, 2014, 5:13 PM - A Toronto Transit Commission bus slid and crashed into a tree at the University of Toronto's Scarborough campus Monday morning leaving five people with minor injuries, the Toronto police reports.
Temperatures hovering around the freezing mark were producing wet, slippery snow at the time, making a mess of roadways.
According to the Toronto Star, the 38 Highland bus slid off a bus loop on Military Trail and Ellesmere Rd. shortly after 8 a.m. Monday.
The driver was among the injured.

Police and paramedics responded to the accident and stopped traffic in the area.
Other 38 Highland buses were diverted but did not miss any stops.
Tuesday's commute could be just as tricky as Monday's, with freezing cold temperatures threatening to ice over untreated surfaces.
