Tropical storm Ivo is currently spinning off the southwest coast of Baja, California, and it is expected to strengthen in the next 36 hours.
Ivo is tracking north-northwest, although there is some divergence on where the storm could end up, according to a statement on the NOAA website.
According to the weather agency, some models forecast Ivo to "move northward across northern Baja California into the southwestern United States. On the other hand [other] models forecast the system to shear apart with the low-level centre stalling over the Pacific west of Baja California.
No coastal watches or warnings have been issued as of yet -- but NOAA isn't ruling out the potential of issuing one later in the day.
