If you visit this country this phrase might be one of the first things you hear.
In Maori it means “hi.”
That's easy enough to pronounce but like a lot of visitors I struggled to pronounce long Maori street and place names.
Another good word to know is Aotearoa, which means “land of the long white cloud.”
Like Canada, this is a place of diverse weather and widespread natural beauty.
This country's landscapes are quite distinctive, and can be profoundly affecting.
