Friday, April 29, 2016, 11:55 AM - Vancouverites were treated to a gift from space when International Space Station commander Tim Kopra snapped a photo of the city from up above.

"Greetings @CityofVancouver from @Space_Station!," tweeted Kopra with a stunning picture of Vancouver, including mentions to the Vancouver Canucks and Canada. The image shows an area of downtown, parts of the North Shore and a clear shot of Stanley Park.

"Greetings to you too, Tim!," the Canucks responded. "Do our young guns shine as bright up there as they do down here?"

The Vancouver International Airport was also amazed with the capture.

"Absolutely awesome! Next time try and snag one of YVR, the view from space really captures our good side :)," the airport tweeted.

This wasn't the first time the American astronaut featured Vancouver. Just three weeks ago, a post to his Instagram account said Vancouver was "one of the prettiest cities from space" he's seen.

Kopra frequently shares photos from around the world and also managed to show some love for eastern Canada with this great post of Toronto.

This is Kopra's second tour of duty on the ISS and his time in space will end in June with the departure of the Soyuz TMA-19M.
