Rare severe thunderstorms sweep southwestern Ontario

Monday, December 3, 2018, 10:55 AM - It will be looking pretty wintry this week over southern Ontario, but the weekend saw a much rarer sigh for early December -- severe thunderstorm watches and warnings across the southwestern tier of the province. The system that brought severe thunderstorms and impressive lightning to southwestern Ontario and the GTA was responsible for the brief-lived spring-like temperatures, as well as multiple tornadoes in Illinois on Saturday.

Small hail was reported with some storms across southwestern Ontario, but the star of the show across the region was the spectacular lightning.
