Severe thunderstorms bring funnel cloud, flooding rains to Quebec

Wednesday, June 4, 2014, 10:58 AM - Severe thunderstorms tracked across southwestern Quebec Tuesday prompting watches and warnings through the afternoon and evening hours.
"A funnel cloud was observed near Dorval as thunderstorms tracked across the Montreal region," says Environment Canada in a storm summary. "According to our radar estimates, the event occurred around 2:30 pm."
No damage or injuries were reported.

"Elsewhere in the region of Montreal and over several other regions of southwestern Quebec, thunderstorms left 20 to 40 mm of rain in a short period of time," EC adds.
Localized flooding occurred in some western regions forcing some drivers to leave their cars stranded.
