Sunday, November 19, 2017, 9:54 PM - Santa Claus visited several communities in Ontario and across the country this weekend, bringing with him an burst of Christmas cheer as he and his reindeer weaved their way through packed city streets.

As many iconic Christmas characters made an appearance, and green and red floats donned with tinsel and fake snow were aplenty, parade routes was transformed into a winter wonderland -- the illusion was helped along by some real life chilly temperatures and snow for some.

Much of Ontario saw mixed precipitation this weekend. Most notably, Lake effect snow bands set up along the shores of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, while Ottawa saw snow and freezing rain into Sunday.

The oldest, and arguably largest of the parades takes place each year in Toronto. On Sunday, thousands huddled together in slightly-below seasonal to see St. Nick.
