Tuesday, November 25, 2014, 4:21 PM - Rivers in Ayr, Ontario are spilling over following heavy rainfall in parts of southern Ontario.

The rising water levels have forced the closure of Township Rd 12 between Blenheim Rd. in Ayr, the OPP announced late Tuesday afternoon.

This marks the second day of flooding for parts of the province.

On Monday, rising water levels inundated the Waterloo region, forcing the closure of several roads.

To make matters worse, strong winds ripped through the area Monday night into Tuesday, snapping tree branches and causing widespread outages.

Additional localized flooding is expected in Ayr Tuesday.

While officials aren't anticipating any major flooding, residents are being advised to avoid low-lying areas and fast-flowing creeks and rivers.

Vehicles in flood-prone areas should be moved.
