Only six other snow devils -- or snownadoes -- have ever been caught on camera.

The twister forms when wind currents collide and spin snow crystals up towards the sky.

Petelin's video has gone viral online, receiving thousands of views.

This past winter has produced its share of strange weather phenomenon -- from ice boulders forming in Lake Michigan to a large 'ice volcano' in western New York.
