FLOODING
Serious flooding also prompted emergency warnings in Westlock on Monday night, a community of nearly 5,000 people about 90 km north of Edmonton. Environment Canada had issued a rainfall warning at the time with the risk for upwards of 70 mm to fall.
The "overland flood alert" was lifted just after 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning as flood waters in the town receded.
Several people took to Twitter to show the impact of the significant rain including parking lots completely filled with water.

Confirmed tornado
On Monday, Environment Canada confirmed an EF-0 twister touched down northeast of Edson, Alberta Sunday evening as part of this same low pressure system.
The tornado occurred just before 9 p.m. MDT, about 30 km northeast of Edson, according to the weather agency's preliminary storm assessment. Tree debris and loonie-sized hail was also reported.
Tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for northern portions of the province Sunday night, however, they were dropped through the overnight.
