Possible tornado as severe thunderstorms hit Ontario

Wednesday, August 31, 2016, 9:58 AM - Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings started the day in central Ontario on Tuesday with the warnings extending into the York and Durham regions as well as the Grey Bruce area and over towards Algonquin through the evening hours.

In addition to heavy rain, small hail and strong wind gusts reported, some rotation was also detected in the New Liskeard area.
"We saw some decent shelf photos on Twitter and a possible funnel/tornado/waterspout reported near the Temiskaming Shores based on photo and videos posted to social media," Sonnenburg says.
Weather Network viewers also uploaded their photos of the possible tornado in the area.

Environment Canada has not yet confirmed a tornado touch down and no damage has been reported with Tuesday's storms.
