Back-to-back nor'easters leave thousands without power

Digital writers

Saturday, March 10, 2018, 2:31 PM - Thousands were left without power and schools closed across the Maritimes Thursday as the first of three powerful nor'easters brought heavy snow, rain and vicious winds to the region, followed shortly after by a second round Friday night into Saturday.

After Friday night's storms, which will have some lingering effects Saturday, only around 300 customers were still in the dark in New Brunswick by the early afternoon, and around 6,000 customers in Nova Scotia, where strong winds were detected.

Multiple collisions were reported on the region's roads over the course of these events, along with flight delays and cancellations.
