Mob of emus invade town to beat Australian drought

Tuesday, August 21, 2018, 4:47 PM - A sleepy town in New South Wales, Australia has been invaded by a mob of thirsty emus.
The large birds have infiltrated the community of Broken Hill in search of resources as a severe drought intensifies across the region.
YouTube video from June, seen above, shows one of the feathered tourists wandering down a suburban street.
A group of emus reportedly crashed a rugby match earlier this month. According to reports, they ran onto the field in the middle of the game.
Unfortunately, the emus aren't adapted to urban life. Local wildlife groups say many have been injured by cars or involved in fights with domestic dogs.
Broken Hill doesn't appear to be alone: According to Storyful, kangaroos have been wandering onto private properties and sparring with livestock for food and water.
