Must-see photos of a storm like no other
Sunday, February 15, 2015, 3:35 PM - The fourth major winter storm to hit New England in less than a month is now taking aim at the Maritimes.
Wind-whipped snow, whiteout conditions and lightning battered coastal areas. Flights across Atlantic Canada have been cancelled as the storm hits.
Atlantic Canada is being battered by a major storm that has already belted the New England states with up to 35 centimetres of snow and high winds.
Forecasters predict up to 50 centimetres of snow and strong winds Sunday for Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and western Newfoundland, while Prince Edward Island could get even more and winds of 120-kilometres an hour.
There are many flight cancellations at the airports in Halifax, Charlottetown, Moncton, and Saint John.
And, Marine Atlantic says some of today's ferry sailings between North Sydney, Nova Scotia and Port aux Basques, Newfoundland have been postponed until at least Monday.
