Thursday, July 3, 2014, 8:50 AM - Severe weather brought heavy rains and gusting winds to parts of New York Wednesday night, "flooding roads and highways and causing lightning injuries," says weather.com.
Thousands of power outages were reported and the stormy conditions were also suspected to have caused a facade collapse beneath the Brooklyn Bridge in downtown Brooklyn, weather.com adds.
"In Rotterdam, four highway workers were treated after the truck they were working beside was hit by lightning."
