Saturday, June 20, 2015, 7:18 PM - A Winnipeg woman was found safe on Thursday after surviving nine days in B.C.'s wilderness.
Kara Stoyanowski, 24, disappeared more than a week ago near Peachland, B.C. wearing only flip-flops, a t-shirt and shorts.
RCMP and rescue teams searched the forested area but found nothing. On Friday she walked out of the forest alone and was found by two ranchers who had been checking on livestock, CBC reports.

She was taken to hospital and suffered only minor injuries.
Stoyanowski had been camping with friends in the area in West Kelowna. She was driving with a friend on June 9 when their van got stuck in a stream bed. The pair decided to split up and Stoyanowski went for high ground, according to CBC.
"She maybe got herself kind of twisted around and hunkered down for a few days hoping to be found," RCMP Cpl. Joe Duncan told reporters.
The woman survived on creek water and mushrooms, Duncan said.
Search and rescue crews were in the process of scaling back their efforts to find Stoyanowski when the ranchers found her.
"It is remarkable to say the least that after nine days she comes out, and is in good condition," Duncan said. "I was very happy, you know that it came to a very good conclusion."
